Helen McKinley, long time Palomar resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 2010. The photos were taken that afternoon at a lovely mountain potluck.

Helen was born in the Boston area August 22, 1929.  She married Bill in March 1951. They had two children, Cinthia and Will. This week Bill said, "We were married 59 years, 4 months, and 8 days.  She was married to the best husband in the entire world, but, that can be debated."  They moved to Palomar in 1978 and rented until they finished building their home on the top of the mountain. Helen volunteered with the Fire Department in the 1980's and was recognized with a nice article in the most recent issue of the PMVFD Hot Notes.       

Everyone is invited to the public Memorial Service at the Fire Station on Saturday, August 28th, 11:00 am to 12:00 noon.

Please send my condolences to the McKinley family. Growing up on Palomar and working at the store for so many years I always thought that Helen was such a nice lady. So happy to hear that her last day here was spent with family and friends at a mountain potluck. Rest in Peace Helen. J
